Броят на жертвите от наводненията и калните свлачища в Бразилия вече достигна 860. За три седмици природното бедствие практически изтри от лицето на земята много планински райони в бразилския щат Рио де Жанейро. Както съобщава гражданската полиция на този щат, в град Нова Фрибурго са загинали 416 човека, в съседния град Терезополис са открити телата на 346 загинали, в град Петрополис са загинали 71 човека. По информация на министерството на вътрешните работи в Рио де Жанейро, до сега в неизвестност са 429 бразилци. Според специалисти, след толкова време е минимален шансът тези хора да бъдат открити живи.
